The most important thing you can do for your car: Around every 4th/5th oil change (about 15,000 miles), there are some extra filters, lubes, and inspections to be done; in order to properly care for the Subaru. This also happens to a greater extent around every 9th/10th oil change (about 30,000 miles,).  So, at 150,000 miles, an “Every 30K Service” is a factory and dealer recommended service. The Dealer Service is a less intense service than the Factory Service.  Please take the time to educate yourself to the differences on the Education page of this site.

Sometimes this can get off of schedule. If you had your last 30K at 138,0000 miles, and you’re now sitting at 154,000- an “Every 15K Service” is necessary to ensure long and healthy car life.

For further clarity: besides 60k (and 120k, 180k,…) and 105k (and 210k,…) ALL other services are variations of the “every 15k” and “every 30k.” The 45k, 75k, 135k, etc. are all basically 15k Services, and the 30k, 90k, 150k, etc. are all basically 30k Services.

SubaDude’s Zero Waste Garage

The SubaDude Garage and residence (circa 2008 to 2017) has unfortunately been put aside due to an outdated line of code in the Land Use Code, and SubaDude is now occupying a low-impact as-green-as-we-can-be commercial business location.  The green home-garage was powered by the Fort Collins Green Energy program. Hand tools, not power tools, were, and still mostly are used – not only to ensure attention to detail, but also to decrease carbon output.

We recycle as much as possible, however, due to various new parts packaging types, one single bag of trash per week currently is, and was, generated at the new commercial location as well as the prior combined shop-residence. All recyclable waste (including fluids) are taken to Larimer county’s top notch recycling facility.

All estimates, invoices, and receipts are generated and exchanged as electronic files. The only paper used is scratch paper for office needs and notes.
